| Ikechukwu Francis Iroegbu |
It was today, 1st
October 2013 that we lost my elder brother, Ikechukwu Francis Iroegbu, a
gallant soldier who died serving his fatherland. The mood changed, changed
because it would have been another merry moment for the independence of our
beloved country Nigeria for me and my household.
There would've been another emotive reflection of my own thoughts and views for this great country, but alas, the death of my hero, gallant soldier Ikechukwu Iroegbu shall always encroach into the celebration mood of the independence of the giant of Africa in my family. My beloved mother awoke me this morning in tears, she reminded me Iyke died today. Indeed it was today! But I also reminded and consoled myself that he died well. Knowing who he was, I dare say my brother died well! He died serving fatherland!! Yet am left in tears, not just for the death of my beloved brother, but also that we have lost many gallant soldiers in the battle field. Great people of Nigeria, let us not forget, the time is now! The time is now to reactivate the love we once had for our fatherland. We must not forget this known truth, that victory over evil is inevitable. Lets us celebrate our independence with relish, sober reflections and the required positive reactivation to keep moving forward. Our God is able to uphold us as we keep matching towards that grandiose glory where our collective dreams for Nigeria will be safely born. Happy Independence Nigeria! Di
